The degree of substitution (DS) of hydroxyethyl groups in HEC can vary depending on the desired properties of the final product. It is white in colour and the final product is in a powder form.

WIDE PH STABILITY
HEC remians stable in a wide PH range, (approximately 2-12), making it suitable for:
Acidic formulations (cleaners), Neutral systems (cosmetics), Alkaline systems (cement mortars).
